Does Penis Enlargement Really Work?

Guys, be honest: would you like you to be bigger? The response is almost definitely yes. The average penis is only around 5 inches long says Mayo Clinic. Increasing the size of the shaft of the penis is the most popular type of enlargement that guys go after. Check out VigRX FAQ for all of the latest questions and answers.

It will make your penis appear much thicker than almost any other enlargement procedure. Lengthening the penis is not the only way to a larger penis.

You can request an appointment with Daniel Murrell MD to discuss penile dysmorphic disorders, penis enlargement procedures, prostate health, plastic surgery. Penile length can be imrproved with penile augmentation and other penisenlargement products. Some of these methods include vacuum device, penis traction, and penile elongation through a surgical procedure.

Pills and lotions can both be effective treatments for these same erection issues. Doctors have injected fat into the penis to increase the girth
“I think there isn’t a guy in the world who hasn’t wished his penis were an inch or two longer,” says Michael O’Leary, MD, professor of urology at Harvard Medical School and urologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

However, after more than a century of usually questionable and often crazy penis enlargement attempts, there’s still not much you can do. The amount of guys who seek penis enlargement every year is astonishing. There are many that want to have the penis elongation surgery

Sure, there are lots and lots of supposed solutions out there—penis pills, creams, brutal stretching exercises, horrid-looking machines, and penis surgery. Almost none of this functions. The few interventions that can work also have limited benefits and severe side-effects. How bad is that? In certain cases, erectile dysfunction is severe.

“Trust me, if I knew of a way to safely and effectively increase penis size, I’d be a billionaire,” O’Leary tells WebMD. “But I don’t. Nobody does.”

Typical erect penis is usually 5 to 6 inches long and has a diameter of 4 to 5 inches. There is further variance in the size of the flaccid penises.

Some guys are actually smaller than that. In rare cases, genetics and hormonal disorders cause a disorder called a micropenis—an erect penis measuring less than 3 inches. Often Peyronie’s disease or prostate cancer surgery will reduce the size of a man.

But studies show that most of the guys looking for penis enlargement are medium-sized.

Penis Enlargement Methods

Activity of enlargement of the penis: length

In this operation to increase the size of the penis, the suspensory ligament that fixes the penis to the pubic bone is removed, raising the perceived length of the penis. “The suspensory ligament suspends the penis much like a bridge suspension. If you cut the suspension posts on the bridge, the bridge will be lower,” Cohen says. “But I really don’t recommend it, because your erection will never again point to the north.”

Penis enlargement surgery: girth

Some doctors offer surgery in which the patient’s own fat is injected into the penis, or a substance like Alloderm — sterilized tissue harvested from cadavers — is wrapped under the skin of the penis like seaweed in a sushi roll, resulting in a girth increase. This is called “off-label use” — Alloderm is approved for burn therapy and reconstructive surgery, not penis enlargement, and there are reports in the medical literature (Solomon, 2013) of complications like infection and skin necrosis (Bruno, 2007).

Penile Injections

To improve the girth, some doctors inject temporary cosmetic fillers into the penis, similar to those used on the lips, brows, and smile lines to plump them. “I’ve never done this before, but I’ve seen it done a couple of times,” says Cohen.
“It just depends onthe chemicals you’re using. Restylane and Juvederm are tried-and-tested agents that we use as fillers,
on the lips, chins and in various parts of the body. They usually last about six monthsand get absorbed into the body.

Penile Implants

Permanent implants inserted under the skin of the penis have been available for men with intractable EDs for decades. In 2004, however, the FDA approved the Penuma silicone sleeve for cosmetic enhancement. It’s worth $13,000. A research in the Journal of Sexual Medicine looked at 400 men who had received Penuma implants; they had an average increase in girth of 56.7%, and 81% reported “high” or “very high” satisfaction two years later (Elist, 2018).

Penile Extenders

Penile extenders are traction devices that you clip onto your flaccid penis and wear for a longer period of time, usually several hours a day. This can result in penile lengthening, but it can take months to see results. “There’s almost anything that can be stretched in the body, including the penis, and that’s been done for hundreds, maybe thousands of years,” says Trost, who invented a traction system called Phalogenics.

Jelqing

There’s plenty of online info about jelqing or stretching exercises in which the flaccid penis is pulled and massaged with fingers or a specially built unit. But the effects are not permanent, and jelqing comes with no small risk of injury. “I’ve had a lot of patients coming to see me, post-jelqing, with neurological tears, so now they have a numb penis, or tearing and overstretching of the arteries and veins, so they have a permanent ED,” says Cohen.

Penis Pump

Penis pumps—or vacuum machines that coax blood into the penis—will induce an erection, but they won’t make the penis bigger forever. In a research published in BJU International, 37 men used penis pumps for 20 minutes, three days a week, for six months. Researchers found that the mean penis length of the participants increased by only.3 cm (which was not statistically significant), the procedure was only 10% successful, and only 30% of the patients were pleased.

Scientific evidence proves male reproductive medicine is on a rise. The size of their penis is a crucial factor to guys growing up. The American Urologic Association reports that urological health is the most important area of healthcare that often gets over looked.

Male Enhancement Pills

No matter how sweet the siren song of those “male enhancement pills” behind the bodega counter or in Google ads, they’re not going to make your penis bigger, science says. “There are no supplements out there that will increase the size of your penis,” Cohen says.

However, VigRX Plus tablets and Extenze both slightly increase the size of your penis because they improve your blood flow to that area.

Losing your weight

One simple way to make the penis look bigger might be to lose weight—in overweight men, fat in the pubic region will protrude over the penis, making it look smaller. Extreme cases have gained a name for the phenomenon: “buried penis syndrome.” Visit your health care provider to explore whether losing weight, changing your diet, or having more exercise will improve your sexual health. Both three were associated with improvement in erection quality and erectile dysfunction (ED).

Manscaping for a larger penis

An even easier way to make your penis look bigger is to trim your pubic hair. Cutting your pubes a bit closer to the base of the penis can make it appear to have more length. Naturally, you’ll want to exercise caution in this area. There are several “bodygrooming” shavers on the market; they include guards and attachments that can help you get a more even result and avoid any undesirable nicks and cuts in an extremely sensitive area.
